Bhoomi will be the comeback movie of Sanjay Dutt. However, the film was in a fix for not getting any lady for his daughter in the film. But it seems that the problem is resolved with Aditi Roy Hydari. The makers have finally found its lead actress. The film which will go on floors in three weeks, has roped in the leading lady and the titular character in the form of Aditi Rao Hydari. Though there were several names from Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Sayyeshaa were in considered for the role but at the end makers decided to go with Aditi.

Omung Kumar who is the director of the film informed the same and the one who is back from the second round of recce in Agra confirmed the news saying that she’s in a good space right now. I love the way she emotes. This, unlike her other projects, will be her film. She’s a relatively untapped actress. The father-daughter relationship is an important aspect of the narrative in this revenge drama. Aditi’s face perfectly blends softness with a lot of strength. Besides, I like to team up people, who seem unlikely to be cast together, in my movies.”

It is learnt that Aditi Roy Hydari also met Sanjay Dutt and the duo hit it off instantly. Talking about their camaraderie Omung says, “Aditi’s role goes handin-hand with Dutt’s track in the film. His journey is physically demanding, while her role will display an array of emotions. So, it’s important that they get along well. They are in fact being trained by a diction expert for the dialect common in Agra.” Sanjay Dutt was last seen in 2014’s blockbuster PK, while Aditi Rao Hydari was last seen in 2016’s dud The Legend Of Michael Mishra. Omung Kumar on the other hand has directed two films so far, both biopic, one in Priyanka Chopra starrer Mary Kom and another in last year’s dud, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan-Randeep Hooda starrer Sarbjit.
