Abis Rizvi shot dead at an Istanbul nightclub

Abis Rizvi

The Bollywood filmmaker Abis Rizvi is no more as he was shot dead at Istanbul’s night club. He was seen getting killed along with at least 35 people and 40 others injured in an armed attack at an Istanbul nightclub early Sunday, on the New Year’s Eve. The attack comes three weeks after the twin bombings in Istanbul that killed at least 45 people, mostly police officers; the investigation into the attack is currently underway.

Venting out his anger against the perpetrators of the terror attack, many Bollywood actors expressed their condolences. Raza Murad said Rizvi’s death was a loss to the industry. Expressing similar sentiments, another Bollywood actor Javed Jaffery, said, ‘Devastated by the death of my friend #AbisRizvi in the dastardly terrorist attack this morning in an #Istanbul nightclub (sic)’. While Raveena Tandon cried sorry saying, “Abis, We shall miss you RIP my dearest friend. We love…leave a deep gap in our hearts & lives.

The others who joined Twitter to express their condolences included Naved Jafri, Randeep Hooda and others.  In fact, the external affair minister, Mrs. Shushma Swaraj too expressed her condolences for the loss of death at the Night Club based at Istanbul.  Abis Rizvi was a budding filmmaker, whose film ‘Roar’ is set to release. Indeed it was not his fault, why was he shot at. This is extremely unfortunate his death is a loss to this industry. Deep condolences to this budding filmmaker from B Town along with his family, may his soul rest in peace!
